Emergency Furnace Help
No heat? Get a certified technician dispatched to your home — most arrive within 2 hours.
If you smell gas: Do not operate any electrical switches. Leave the building immediately, leave the door open, and call your gas utility emergency line or 911 from outside. Do not re-enter until cleared by authorities.
Before calling a technician
Check your thermostat
Set it to HEAT and raise the set-point 5°F above room temperature. Replace batteries if the display is blank.
Check the furnace switch & breaker
The furnace has a power switch that looks like a light switch near the unit. Ensure it's ON. Also check the circuit breaker — reset if tripped.
Check the filter
A clogged filter is the #1 cause of furnace shutdowns. Replace it if it looks grey and matted.
Call a technician
If the above don't restore heat, submit the form or call our emergency line. We dispatch within 2 hours for emergency requests.
